don't be distracted...

Satan delights in using the cares of this life to distract us from making spiritual forward progress. If he had his way, we would become so overwhelmed with the circumstances around us that we would take our eyes off of our almighty God, give in to discouragement and abandon the faith.

Someone wisely said, “Never doubt in the dark what God has revealed to you in the light.” Friends, let’s be wise about the way in which our enemy operates and withstand his attacks by receiving and clinging to God’s word, maintaining correct spiritual priorities (God’s kingdom first), and by casting all our cares on our heavenly Father (I Peter 5:7). Our God is far greater than any challenge that might distract us.

Psalm 62:11-12…

11 One thing God has spoken,
two things have I heard:
that you, O God, are strong,
12 and that you, O Lord, are loving.

Since God is strong, he is able to completely fulfill his every promise. Since God is loving, we can confidently trust him. He is, as the NIV Study Bible puts it, “committed to his people’s salvation and blessedness.”
